All the way from Hawaii…
It was such a joy shooting this beautiful family from Hawaii. When I first found out they lived in Honolulu but were coming out to Los Angeles for their daughters graduation and booking their family portraiture session with me, I was thrilled!! I wanted to make sure to scout a beautiful location for them. Hawaii sets the bar high! It was very cute when Karen mentioned, in addition to her daughters, they had to include their two pups! I am always touched by how special our extended families are to all of us. I considered Descanso Gardens, with all the flora and fauna, but quickly decided against all the weekend crowds. I needed to find a pretty, but secluded location. I decided on the open fields near Echo Mountain, not far from Glendale.
It was really fun seeing this family enjoying each other. We captured some great family group photos but I also wanted some candid moments. What better way to get real emotions than to get people to share stories about each other, especially when it comes to siblings! I love the smiles and laughs we got out of everyone! It was also very sweet to capture some one on one moments with the girls and their boyfriends. Who knows, they could be photos for some bigger announcements in the near future, giggles! And last but not least, one of my favorites, was mom and her pup Cole. Undeniably a little love affair. Good thing dad is not the jealous type.
