Sammi joined my Senior Model Team Program- Class of 2020, back in April. To be completely honest, she was one of the shyest girls when we first met. Ironically her “dad” was the biggest fan of her being a part of the Model Team to help her build her self confidence. These images are from her Senior Portrait Session and what I love the most is seeing the change in her. Her sweetness and innocence is all still there, but now I see a different sparkle in her eye and a more confident stride in her steps. This is a huge reason for my Model Team Program. I have the ability to help young people, girls and boys, work on their confidence, self image, and poise through photography.
During her pre-session consultation we went over her passions, hobbies, wardrobe options, and wishes for her Senior Session. She came up with all her ideas and shared them with me. She is involved in art and photography and wanted that to be a part of her session. We were going to be shooting in two locations, so she showed me inspirational images of nature and an urban setting. Now it was time for me to find the perfect spots! We shot in Eaton Canyon, Altaden for her nature shots and then bee-lined to Old Town Pasadena for her urban images.
A couple of weeks after her shoot she and her family came into the studio for their Image Premiere and Ordering Session. I created a custom slideshow for their viewing. As soon as it started, her dad choked up and said ” I can’t believe this is my little girl. She looks so different. Beautiful and confident”. This meant the world, I’m sure to her, and to me. Everyone loved her images, but what touched me the most was the look on her face and the email she had as she looked at herself.
