Your life is your story and the adventure ahead of you is the journey to fulfill your own purpose and potential.
Let me share a little of Xio’s story with you. I have known Xiomara since she was in kinder. It was so special to be her senior photographer. Xio is beautiful, playful, quiet, exotic, big hearted and an animal lover. But how could she not be with a mom like hers. They have been involved in animal-kitty rescues and fostering as long as I can remember.
As with all my clients the first part of their senior “experience” is sharing their personal story with me. Who they are, what they love, accomplishments, passions, their personal style and vibe. This gives me a chance to get to know them and personalize their senior portrait experience. No two are alike!
Xio shared with me that she has been playing tennis for seven years. So the first part of her session we shot on the tennis courts.
She has a fun girlie style, so showcasing her casual look at one of our historical neighborhood parks, the Verdugo Adobe in Glendale, CA was our second stop. Once we finished our urban locations we were freeway bound to Malibu!!
Leo Carrillo, Malibu is one of my favorite locations. I love that I can get a nature vibe from the campgrounds and then easily take it to the beach. It’s especially magical during golden hour.
I am blessed to be collaborating with a talented team including my makeup artist, photographers assistants, and my videographer team who capture fabulous behind the scenes images and video. You can check these out on my YouTube Channel and IGTV.
We started our shoot at the campgrounds and played with a straw beach hat and beautiful red parasol.
I always suggest that the moms and/or dads join us for part of the senior experience. In Xio’s case her mom joined us at the beach along with a litter of kitties!!!! I love capturing some special mother and daughter moments during the shoot. It’s so beautiful to see the love and bond between these two!
Once we wrapped up our nature shots we moved down to the beach. Here we had a ton of fun shooting with the kitties. I love all the natural fun and laughter we were able to capture playing with the kittens. Xio was a great model and made being in the water seem easy. But I have to say, when you get a long beaded dress wet it weighs a ton!!!!
She looked gorgeous on the sand, in the waves, and on the rocks!
It’s amazing to see this little girl growing up into a beautiful young lady. Thank you for the honor and privilege of being your senior portrait photographer.
