“A Star is Born”
I have known Ella and her family since first grade. Her parents are amazing musicians, and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. I was thrilled to have Ella on my Senior Model Team Class of 2021 and to shoot her senior portraits.
Ella is a senior at California School of the Arts in Duarte. She is a singer/songwriter signed to Winding Way Records, and has released two singles on the label earlier this year– “Six Feet” and “Edge of 18” on Spotify, Apple Music and all platforms worldwide. Her next single “hellbent High School” dropped on May 3rd. She wrote her debut single “Six Feet”, about dealing with social distancing during the pandemic.
It has been challenging to have her senior year held online, but CSArts has continued to produce amazing shows and support creative outlets that Ella is involved in, including Leadership, plays and musical productions, showcases and master classes. They even still blast the school jingle that Ella wrote in the morning announcements over Zoom!
I had nominated Ella for Inspiring Teens Magazine and was very proud and excited to have her featured and printed in the publication. It has been a joy and honor to share Ella’s senior year with her and to watch this amazing young stars journey on her road to success!!
For Ella’s senior portrait session it was important to her to show off her urban/indy side as well as her softer nature side and to reflect her art as a musician. We started her session in Old Town Pasadena down by the metro station. We were able to catch some really artsy photos in the stairwell and around the station with her guitar and bubbles, yes bubbles!! These pictures were so fun and really showed off her personality. In addition, two photos made her first single covers!!!!
For Ella’s next location we drove to a second destination in Pasadena, Arlington Gardens. This was a perfect garden and nature setting for the second half of her shoot. We had beautiful flowers, rustic chairs, fences, and fountains to shoot. And last but not least, we captured some beautiful mother and daughter shots too!
The skies the limit for this beautiful talented young lady! I look forward to watching her grow and share her gift with all of us!!
