Welcome Baby Owen
Three years ago I was honored to do their first newborn session. Today I was honored to capture baby number two and family of four! I especially loved this session because we started with shooting in their home and capturing lifestyle moments before we took it outdoors into golden hour and nature.
There were so many beautiful candid moments with father and sons, mommy and son, and some more intimate private shots of mommy and newborn. It was great capturing their home and the vibe of “this is us”.
And no session is perfect in my book if you’re not having fun! So we made sure there was time for jumping on the bed and tickles and giggles with both mom and dad.
How to get those natural smiles and candid, fun captures:
1- it’s so important to create a personal connection
2- be playful. Have fun with your clients, big and small.
3- show them exactly what you want.
4- give lots of compliments and reinforcement.
After we got some great shots in their home we took the fun outside. The Moses basket we brought along for the shoot was originally intended for baby Owen. But when you’re shooting newborns you just have to go with the flow, and sometimes that means your newborn is not going to lay in your adorable prop-basket without crying. But no worries, we were able to get big brother in the basket and capture some priceless memories!
This was such a special session. Thank you for choosing me as your newborn and family photographer!!!
